Dignity is something everyone can have but can lose easily just in a blink of an eye. Many people never consider dignity to be a part of them yet it is almost like a plate of food which is essential in their bodies. The denotative meanings of dignity that l will base on in this magazine are the fact of being given honor and respect by people or the sense of your own importance or value. One can lose his/her dignity in the following ways;
• Having self-criticism, this is the process of looking at and judging your own faults and Weaknesses, one ends up not knowing their value.
• Having a poor dress code like very skimpy clothes.
• Lack of respect for other people in society
• Allowing yourself to be manipulated by anyone without self-defense.
• having or being ill-mannered can also make them lose his/her dignity
• Gossiping about others which may make them have a low-profile in society
However if diginty is lost, it can be re-gained in one way or the other by;
- Changing from being a bad character to a good one.
• Accepting mistakes done and aiming at doing your best to solve them.
• Having a good speech in public; bad language may not be pleasing especially for us the teachers.
• Thinking before you act.
• Having general respect for everyone in their capacities
• Having self-assurance
• Maintaining a proper dress code like descent office attire, not exposing crucial body parts.
• Having self –control in everything that is done.
• Respecting and acting towards God’s commandments of “love your neighbor as you love yourself”.
• Being down to earth.
• Therefore, if you have it, maintain it, if you had lost it, there is still time to re-gain it And now is the time’
UMUHIMU WA KUJIFUNZA KISWAHILI
The importance of studying Kiswahili
Kupita mitihani kimasomo.Kupata kazi/ajira baada ya masomo.
In this era, we need to eliminate the THINKING that Kiswahili was/is a language of “thieves”. Gone are the days! I encourage all the readers of this magazine to develop a positive attitude towards the learning of kiwsahili. If you have the opportunity to learn this language, please grab it with two hands.
